One thing that drew me to my new e-bicycle is that it’s made in the USA. Or in California, which is a lot like the USA, only with weirder people and better weather.
According to the company’s website, the bikes are hand-made in this little California town I’ve never heard of, assembled by American workers using American-made parts.
Jasmine Monroe of Greenville signed her daughter up for the Tri Greenville triathlon despite her objections.
Monroe saw it as an opportunity to boost the confidence of her daughter, 8-year-old Jerimya Leasure. Leasure initially refused, not wanting to participate.

Alpha Family Services is hosting its annual 5K run/walk event on June 12 in Greenville. The event is one of three big fundraisers the company hosts throughout the year and is designed to raise money and awareness for what Alpha Family Services provides.
The event will begin with a check-in for the 5K run at 8:00 a.m. The run begins at 8:30, with the walk beginning at 10 a.m.
The Summer Reading Program — Tails & Tales — began June 7 at the Tamarack District Library in Lakeview and will run through July 24.
