It’s been a rough year for businesses and residents alike. In two Montcalm County villages, citizens have decided that it’s especially important to bring some holiday cheer — and a little bit of normalcy — to the last month of 2020.
Ionia Public Schools will maintain a fully virtual model of instruction through Jan. 15, 2021, according to a communication from Superintendent Ron Wilson on Monday.
Wilson said he made the decision based on recent survey results from parents and staff, as well as the growing number of positive COVID-19 cases within the district.
A corn dryer fire just south of Howard City caused some serious damage late Monday morning, according to Howard City Fire Chief Randy Heckman.
At 11:41 a.m., the Howard City Fire Department was called to 19117 W. Lake Montcalm Road for a corn dryer fire at Sietsema Farms Feeds LLC.
