Greenville High School Interact Club assists community with autumn event
With a rare 70-degree November day ahead of them, members of the Fighting Falcon Military Museum decided it was time to get to work and rake clean a yard full of leaves Saturday.
With the lawn surrounding the museum on all sides, the task at hand would not be an easy one, so Museum Board Treasurer Jerry Krick thought it best to get an early start on the job.
Three finalists have begun to emerge in Stanton’s search for a new city manager.
During a special meeting Saturday morning, the Stanton City Commission reviewed 10 candidates vying for the position of city manager and selected three to interview in the coming weeks.
A first-place finish followed by 25th, 45th, 53rd and 96th.
These finishes totaled 157 points for the Carson City-Crystal (CC-C) Eagles boys cross country team at Saturday’s Division 4 state finals. It was a tight race in Division 4 for the state championship and the Eagles knew they’d be in the mix coming in.

Coming into the fall 2020 season, Grant Woodman knew if there would be a cross country season, his boys would be in contention for a state championship.
There was plenty of uncertainty along the way, including the Carson City-Crystal Eagles having to shut down the school district for two weeks on Sept. 23 due to a coronavirus outbreak, ceasing all athletic activities, as well.
In recent years, the MHSAA cross country finals were filled with cold temperatures, rain, mud and generally unpleasant elements for spectators and runners alike.
In true 2020 fashion, however, this year turned the tables and brought patrons at the state finals at Michigan International Speedway (MIS) warm, sunny weather, a true oddity for early November. As such, Friday’s runners saw slower times than normal given the high temperatures and humidity.

A structure fire was contained to a garage Saturday evening thanks to efforts of local firefighters who managed to save the nearby residence.
At approximately 7:36 p.m., the Greenville Department of Public Safety (GDPS) was dispatched to the report of a fully involved garage fire at 11119 S. River Road.
