Tri County baseball falls in regional semifinals to Fruitport, 17-1, in four innings

Tri County has learned plenty throughout the baseball season, much of it coming from on-field experience along with the tutelage from head coach Shawn Nelson and assistant coach John Meeuwes.

Coming off of last season, a loss to Alma in the district semifinals, Nelson said he saw plenty of potential in his program — the Vikings were playing solid baseball, but just couldn’t find the break. A year later, his Vikings beat the Panthers to claim their first district title since 2010.
