Saranac students get lessons on effects of alcohol and marijuana

Students at Saranac Junior/Senior High School were presented with some important information and experiences during a series of three special “#thunkndunk” assemblies on Friday morning.

The assemblies included informative remarks and data about the deleterious effects of underage drinking and vaping from Ionia County Substance Abuse Initiative Director Debbie Thalison and Ionia County Sheriff’s Sgt. Jacob Sommer, as well as the screening of a couple short videos with testimony from other teenagers about their experiences with substance abuse.
