All Montcalm County non-union employees will receive at least a 4% pay increase in the coming year, while some employees will receive even more if commissioners approve the proposed 2022 budget.
During the Sept. 13 Committee-of-the-Whole meeting, commissioners reviewed and recommended to the full board the most recently updated draft of the new fiscal year budget. The proposed budget calls for all county employees to receive at least a 4% cost of living pay raise, while some “underpaid” employees will receive even more based on a study done of comparable salaries in neighboring counties, according to Controller-Administrator Brenda Taeter (see accompanying info box for more details).
