MCC students excel at leadership conference



SIDNEY — Four Montcalm Community College (MCC) students earned high honors during the Business Professionals of America (BPA) State Leadership Conference, which was held virtually in March, and qualified to attend the national competition in May.

Kasondra Triggs of Ionia placed second in three categories including Administrative Support Concepts, College Payroll Accounting and Financial Math & Analysis Concepts; and earned fourth place in College Accounting. Morgan Mason of Belding placed first in Graphic Design Promotion; she earned fourth place in three categories including Digital Marketing Concepts, Management, Marketing and Human Resources Concepts and Parliamentary Procedures Concepts; and fifth in two categories including Computer Programming Concepts and Fundamental Spreadsheet Applications. Alison Skogseth of Greenville placed second in Parliamentary Procedures Concepts; third in Presentation Management Team; and fourth in Ethics & Professionalism. Lindsey Olger of Lakeview placed second in Graphic Design Promotion; and third in two categories including Fundamental Desktop Publishing and Presentation Management Team.

MCC’s Computer Information Systems (CIS) lab coordinator Kristen Diehl and business instructor Bill Bishop, serve as BPA Club advisers.

BPA is the leading Career and Technical Student Organization for students pursuing careers in business management, office administration, information technology and other related career fields.
