As some state officials work toward moving the control of utility-scale wind and solar projects from townships into the hands of the state of Michigan, township officials and residents are speaking out.
At least one local township board has already taken action — the Sidney Township Board on Monday evening voted unanimously to approve a resolution expressing support to maintain local control over local land uses, including not only industrial wind and solar projects, but also short-term rentals and sand and gravel mining.
