OTISCO TOWNSHIP — Two motorcyclists sustained significant injuries from an accident on Belding Road (M-44) on Sunday evening.
At approximately 7:37 p.m.on Sunday, deputies from the Ionia County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to an accident involving two motorcycles that occurred just west of Bartonville Road on M-44 in Otisco Township.
The initial information given to deputies stated that a motorcycle had struck a deer. Once deputies arrived on the scene, they learned that a second motorcycle was also involved in the crash.
One motorcyclist, a 28-year-old man from Belding, was transported to Spectrum Butterworth Hospital via Aeromed. The other motorcyclist, an 18-year-old man from Orleans, was transported to Spectrum Butterworth Hospital via Life Ambulance.
Both parties received significant injuries from the crash, which remains under further investigation.
