WINFIELD TOWNSHIP — The Michigan State Police Lakeview Post are investigating a felonious assault that occurred Saturday night, which resulted in three Howard City men being stabbed.
Initial investigation reveals that a 28-year-old man from the Morley/Newaygo area was in a verbal altercation at the Amble Bar on M-46 in Winfield Township. The suspect allegedly later went to the victim’s residence on nearby Bailey Road where the verbal altercation became physical, and three individuals were stabbed around 11:28 p.m.
Two Howard City men were transported to the hospital for treatment. A third Howard City man was treated on scene for non-life-threatening injuries. All three victims are in stable condition.
The known suspect fled the scene in a green Jeep Commander prior to law enforcement’s arrival, according to police. The incident remains under investigation.
The Michigan State Police were assisted by the Montcalm County Sheriff’s Office.
