The Ionia County Board of Commissioners met for a special session Monday night to hammer out a 2022 budget on the eve of the deadline to publish a budget in preparation for a public hearing on Oct. 12.
Commissioners eventually agreed on a document, but it wasn’t unanimous and it wasn’t without turmoil — including the apparent resignation of the finance director.
