Howard City’s annual Buck Pole returnsFree Access


The village of Howard City will host its annual Buck Pole event from 9:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. Monday at the northeast corner of old 131 and M-82. This event is open to all deer hunting participants and the general public. Grand prize is a Matthew’s V3 compound bow, retailed at $1,200, provided by Mac’s Rustic Sports. Door prizes will be handed out, as well as a first buck hung prize. Prizes for three youth divisions and three adult divisions. Rules are as follows: The deer’s hind legs must be split and field dressed, the deer must hang until 8 p.m. (weather permitting), rack points must be at least 1 inch, the deer must have been shot and tagged on Monday and the hunter must be present at 8 p.m. to receive a prize.
