Greenville DDA continues downtown WiFi discussion

Members will entertain pursuing a feasibility study for project in January 

In continuing to explore the possibility of offering free wireless internet to visitors of the city’s historic downtown district, members of the Greenville Downtown Development Authority are nearly ready to take the first step. 

Last month, Roger Ferworn, president of AE Tech Design in Kalamazoo, delivered a presentation on the benefits of installing fiber optic lines downtown, as such a project is one of several identified as an option to pursue as part of the DDA’s tax increment financing plan, which outlines how the organization should spend its revenues that are collected through various tax authorities.
