The chairman of the Montcalm County Republican Party has resigned while also throwing his support behind a Democrat running for a seat on the Montcalm County Board of Commissioners.
Mike Williams, who is also the county sheriff and a Republican, resigned as the county’s GOP chairman on Sept. 13 after acting as chairman for nearly two years.
