Attorney to Cato Township Planning Commission: ‘Your text message are subject to FOIA’

During last Wednesday’s meeting, the Cato Township Planning Commission discussed a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) issue with their new attorney.

Planning Commissioner Quanah Striker brought up the topic, referencing a column the Daily News published about Planning Commission Chairman Phil Morrow deleting text messages regarding wind ordinance deliberations and not making the texts available in response to a FOIA request from the newspaper. (The column can be read at thedailynews.cc/articles/elisabeth-waldon-deliberating-township-business-via-text).
